Windows Behind Couple is a Big "No. No."

In this Blog Post I want to address the positioning of your Wedding Ceremony &

explain in detail the reasons for my assessments on this topic.

Every couple wants to be married in a location that provides exquisite views & backdrops. Thinking "How Pretty is this?"

At the end of this blog post I will explain exactly & quite easily how to determine your positioning. It really is easier than you think.

Outdoor Ceremony:

You need to consider several issues surrounding the positioning of a outdoor ceremony.

You need to take into consideration the following issues that can make your ceremony Comfortable or uncomfortable for your Guests. Photographer & Videographer.

This ultimate outdoor location should have no Bright Lighting Backdrops, such as ocean views. Direct sunlight.

Also a big NO. NO is picking half shade, half sunlight.

Allow me to give you my reasons for this.

1/ You have invited your guests to sit & watch you as you pledge your love to each other. So ultimately you need your guests to be able to see you in plain view without needing to wear sunglasses or squint or cover their eyes from the sun with a magazine or their handbag. This makes for a very uncomfortable ceremony for your guests.

2/ Photographers & Videographers. Will have a difficult time in trying to capture your wedding if you have Glare Related Backdrops..

Lets's face it. You have paid sometime $1000s for these services so you do really want the best from these vendors. But sometimes you need to help them by Ceremony Placement.

So, it is very important to not go for those Bright, attractive backdrops. Quite Simply, a camera works a lot different than you may think.

If a background is affecting the photograph/video. These people will do what we call "BOKEH". Which means the background because it is affecting the shot will be Blurred out or what we call Blow Out (Whited Out). This needs to be done so as to give you the Photo/Video that you expect from these professionals.

My strong suggestions for Outdoor Ceremony Location is to try and position your ceremony layout North to South & with either Full shade or No shade. Partially shaded is yet again a huge issue.

Indoor Ceremony:

Now this can be a huge issue when picking your ceremony location.

Firstly on your journey in seeking out your ceremony venue. Please avoid any venue that has lage Glass Widows behind where the Bride & Groom will stand. While at times you maybe thinking that it is a beautiful view for your guests. When in fact the light beaming in from behind you will inhibit your guests from actually seeing YOU.

Allow me to explain.

The Natural Eye is attracted to a light source. Therefore anything in front of that light source will become darkened to a point of becoming a silhouette, which will have your guests struggling to see you. Just take a look at the photographs in this blog & I am certain you will get the idea. So, at every chance, try and avoid any venue that provides this type of window backdrop. No matter how Professional & experienced your Photographers & Videographers are. They will struggle in this situation.

Best way to choose your Ceremony location.

Take along a friend with you. Firstly Bride & Groom stand in position where they will marry & ask your friend to sit in any position in front of you & take a photo on their phone. Then take a look at that photo and if you both appear as silhouette's, then you know exactly how your guests will view you.

Also a Camera, while having a few extra tricks that a natural eye doesn't have will attempt to adjust exposure for different Back Light Sources. But it is still not optimum.

So I strongly suggest when you choose a Ceremony location you think of 1 thing only.

Forget any picturesque background. It will only hinder your Guests, Photographers & Videographers.

Best of luck with your Wedding Planning & I hope this information is beneficial to you.
