Being a Wedding Videographer for now just on 25 years. I have been approached by several online Wedding Bloggers to participate in this project from a Videographers point of view, Wedding locations & venues from different areas across NSW & ACT & VICTORIA.
I have been asked to write a series of Blogs based on our own opinions of the 3 best Wedding Locations & Venues in Canberra.
Specifically those that cater for both Wedding Ceremonies & have Reception facilities all at the one location.
These are listed in no particular order. Canberra is so very spoiled for Wedding Locations. I am yet to find one I didn't like.
Please bare in mind these views are from a Videographers point of view looking at Settings & Backdrops that stand out on Video.
1/ MAGPIE'S NEST.
This venue is truly a Magpie's Nest. 100s of very friendly Magpie's call this place home. They roam about as if it is their own nest.
This just adds to the ambiance of the Venue. Designed to cater for both Ceremony & Receptions.
A beautiful manicured Ceremony Location has been created here. Complete with a theatre like sloped Guest seating area, so everyone can obtain a full clear view of the entire ceremony without needing to look over heads in front. A very clean area with ample shade when needed.
The surrounding Olive Grove & Vineyards that face west are the perfect location for Sunset Video & Photographs.
The Old Charm Building is just a exquisite venue for a Wedding Reception.
The host, Hayley & her staff are ever so friendly. And efficient in every aspect. Nothing is too much trouble & the attention to detail is 2nd to none.
The room itself can easily hold 200 people. The undercover outside area is the setting for Dancing the night away.
I rank this venue as No 1 in Wagga for your Wedding Day.
2/ BORAMBOLA ESTATE
Wow, Just Wow is the best way to describe this Wedding Venue. And so versatile. With not 1, but 2 great Ceremony Locations.
The first I will mention is overlooking the properties dam and gazing into the surrounding countryside beyond is just amazing.
Again it must be a Wagga Thing. As this location has that Theatre Style slope for guests seating to view the entire ceremony unimpeded.
Another Ceremony Area at this venue is the manicured lawn area out front of the main house. Again a brilliant setting using the backdrop of the Native Tress to show off such a pretty location.
The Reception Venue area is just a beautiful. Using a permanently mounted Marquee which has see through clear sides and ceiling. If you want that evening star filled sky look. Or you can dress it up anyway you wish.
The staff are just brilliant. We love shooting Wedding Video's here. It just has a certain Natural Charm about it.
3/ KIMO ESTATE.
While not actually in Wagga itself, But close enough. Being on the road between Wagga & Gundagai. This venue has been purposely created Weddings. It has everything you will ever need for your Wedding Day. From the old world charm accommodation cottages. Up to the newly built Accommodation facilities.
A Ceremony area that yet again boasts that theatre type slope to allow guests to watch without having to look over other guests heads.
The Ceremony area is located to the rear of the main homestead on what can only be described as the best lawn area in the region. Surrounded by beautiful Flowers & Trees, It is just a Videographers Dream
The Reception Area is across the road in a specially built Barn Style Building with ample room to accommodate a massive amount of people.
With its very high ceiling it can be created into a masterpiece for your wedding reception that will have the guests in awe.
The Venue gives a Rustic Charm feeling about it. And to us. This is just perfect for the area.
The staff are just superb. Would leave some of the Big City Venue staff looking for more. Cannot fault this Venue/Location.
It is certainly a MUST SEE venue to put on your list when your planning your Wedding.
