This week we will touch on our views & opinions on Hair & Make-up for your Wedding Day from our perspective that we get to witness & experience from the other side of the camera.
The Bride & her Party go to extreme lengths to ensure they look the very best on the day. And rightly so. It is a day when Beauty shines.
So much preparations & planning has gone into the early moments of a Wedding Day. The pressure is on. Only the strong survive.
Let me start by Quoting a Professional Wedding Hair Stylists. Who's full time job is Weddings Only. Her comment is important.
QUOTE:
You could be the worlds best Hair Stylist. But the Worlds Worse WEDDING HAIR STYLISTS.
UNQUOTE:
This comment is very very true. Not just for Hair & Make-up. But for all wedding Suppliers. There is a reason why business advertise & specialize in WEDDINGS. It is because they understand the pressures & time sensitive schedules on the day. And this is exactly the reason why when you are seeking out both Hair Stylists & Make-up artists you strictly ask for their Wedding Experience. Do not simply assume your local Hair Dresser can work & perform under time pressures.
One Most Important factor to bring up with your Hair Stylists & Make-Up atrists when hiring them is to strictly ensure they can finish at least 1 hour before ceremony time. So many times we as Videographers & I have seen Photographers just standing around waiting while a Hair Stylist or Make-Up artist believes that because a Ceremony time is 3pm. Then they have until then to complete their work. This could not be more WRONG. Please insist that you have time for Videography & Photography prior to your Ceremony. This is a extremely impoirtant hour for your memories to be captured.
While it is very understandable that some budgets do not allow for the hiring of Professionals in this field and it maybe more economical to have Family or Friends perform these tasks. While this is fine. Please ensure you start earlier enough or have the Bride completed before Flower Girls or Mother of Bride. That way Videographers & Photographers can still go about their work and still ensure capture of you getting into your gown and Pre Ceremony vision.
Furthermore. To assist your Hair Stylists & Make-Up artists further. Try to have your styles pre planned and stick to them. This will allow your Hair & Make-Up people to be able to whip through the process with ease and not feel any pressure due to time. Both yourself & your Stylists will feel a lot more at ease in knowing exactly the task at hand & they can pre-plan the starting time.
In closing. Remember. A Wedding Hair Stylist & Wedding Make-Up artist are different from your shop front people. Its all about knowing how to deal with the time sensitive pressures of Your Wedding Day
Bye For Now.
